Thing 10

I enjoyed using the software to create the comic. This site can be used to create comics to promote new books in the library. The comics should be used to highlight a trilogy of books written by a particular author. The web site that contained the magazine generator software is the perfect tool to promote new books or showcases an author in the library.

Thing 9

The search tool that was the easiest for me to find a RSS feed was Technorati. The search tool that was the most confusing was Topix. As I was looking at the site, there were random blogs that were highlighted on the site. On the Topix feed, I found a personal blog one of the blogs contained personal information of a person’s dating blog. I found this very strange. In the Technorati feed, I was able to find information on new technology and the release dates. The site also gave reviews of the newest smart phones.

Thing 8

The five blogs I subscribed to are technology, top stories, US, education and cooking.
One of the major benefits of a RSS or reader is the information I would search for on the internet for hours is contained into one page. I also liked the fact that I could use specific search terms to cater my Google reader. Instead of searching though several newspapers and magazines to find articles that interest me, I will be able to read them through the RSS feed. Teachers can use the RSS feed to tag specific topics he/she may want to include in a lesson.

Thing 7

I created an iGoogle page for my Google account. I have a My Yahoo page for my yahoo account, but I prefer the page I created for my Google account. I am given a larger amount of themes and gadgets to personalize my page. The educational use of the iGoogle page could be used for students to link their school sponsored facebook to the teacher and other students in the class.

I also created a calendar on my Gmail account. One of the best tools of the calendar is the ability to link it to my Droid. I am able to maintain important dates and appointments through my android phone. The educational use of the calendar allows students to maintain due dates for class assignments.

Thing 6

I enjoyed creating the trading card. As a librarian, I could use trading cards to highlight different book covers. The easy of creating each card helps to advertise a larger amount of books.

Thing 4

Register my blog.

Thing 3

Set up a personal blog

Thing 5

I found the information contained in the Flickr to be extremely useful for educators. As I was exploring the site I found the librarian that included links to books that can be purchased on Amazon.com as a another tool the help patrons discover books.

The picture I choose on Flickr showed me of how not to keep a library.

Thing Two

The easiest habit for me to achieve in the 7½ habits is “have confidence in yourself as a competent effective learner”. I see myself as a lifelong learner. I am always searching for new concepts and knowledge on several different subjects. For example, I love watching documentaries. I am fascinated by the information that is contained in documentaries.

The hardest habit would be play. There are times that I forget to ‘stop and smell the roses.’ This is a habit I plan to improve.
